YG Marley Joins Skepta's Big Smoke Festival!!!

YG Marley has been revealed as a special guest for Skepta's highly anticipated Big Smoke Festival, taking place at Crystal Palace Park on Saturday, 6 July 2024. This inaugural event boasts a star-studded line-up, making it a must-see for music enthusiasts.

Skepta announced the news on Instagram, expressing his excitement: “An honour. The great Bob Marley and The Wailers played their final UK show at Crystal Palace Bowl in 1980 and now King YG Marley will play his first ever UK show at @bigsmokefestival Crystal Palace Park 🔥🔥, more special guests to be announced.”

YG Marley, grandson of the legendary Bob Marley and son of Rohan Marley and Lauryn Hill, will make his UK debut with an exclusive performance. This appearance is significant as it continues the Marley legacy at a venue that hosted Bob Marley's final UK concert over four decades ago.

Earlier this year, YG Marley impressed audiences with his Coachella debut, performing alongside Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, and Busta Rhymes. He also appeared on The Tonight Show with Lauryn Hill, delivering memorable renditions of “Survival” and “Praise Jah In The Moonlight,” which have resonated deeply with fans and garnered significant acclaim.

The Big Smoke Festival will feature two stages curated by Mercury Prize-winning artist Skepta. The line-up includes prominent acts such as The Streets, Mahalia, JME, Lancey, K-Trap, Odumodublvck, and The Den featuring Frisco, Flowdan, Sir Spyro, Infamousizak, Manga, and Thafirst. Skepta himself will headline the Big Smoke stage, delivering his only UK performance of 2024.

The Más Tiempo Stage will showcase international talent in house, amapiano, and beyond, with performances from Loco Dice, Uncle Waffles, Syreeta, Kitty Amor, and more.

Crystal Palace Park, known for its rich history as London’s original outdoor concert venue, has hosted iconic performances by The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, and Bob Marley. This summer, it will also feature The National on 5 July and a sold-out show by Bloc Party on 7 July, making it a premier destination for music lovers.
