British-Ghanian rapper ATO has been assuredly elevating his status within the alternative space, unveiling a unique and demiurgic approach to UK rap. With a heavy emphasis on electronic soundscapes, the Leeds rapper stands out from the scene for his dreamy instrumental palettes and focused, introspective lyrical approach. His new tape is a follow up from last year’s SIDE A, leaning even further into experimentation and delivering a striking, poignant message across each of the five rousing cuts. 

nu balance is a more light-hearted entry from the tape; encapsulating a summer essence through a gentle and lulling soundscape, ATO flexes his melodic prowess with atmospheric harmonies and a slick hook, before moving into charismatic barring that accentuate the artist’s diverse craft. The accompanying visuals are both conceptual and wholesome, and see ATO in a series of scenarios including a kick about and a photoshoot.
