Nothing conjures the feeling of nostalgia quite like the thought of returning home. For some, the thought inspires sweet memories of childhood and for others, it causes the skeletons in their closets to stir. It’s this experience that Mac Lloyd dives into in his latest release, ‘Sweetheart Soul Jam, Pt. 6’. The track is a beautiful exploration of the emotions that arise when turning to face the past. 

The artful tune mimics the essence of a road trip home, the melody of the guitar underpins the journey and the vocals guide us along the way as we turn down roads that are familiar and foreign at the same time. Soulful is the only word that makes sense when describing the way the guitar weaves through old memories. Mac Lloyd expertly juxtaposes the softness that comes from the music with the harsh reality in his lyricism. With earned wisdom that puts him beyond his years he has successfully made the word ‘bittersweet’ into a sound.
