Queen Bed

Self-proclaimed ‘RnPoprincess’ Lucy DK has dropped her latest single ‘Queen Bed’, which talks about her time in The Big Apple.

The Leicester born artist, who now resides in South East London, made the trip across the pond to Nashville for a handful of years, before moving again to New York to grow her sound and start releasing tracks. Prior to arriving Lucy DK was a country artist, heavily influenced by Taylor Swift, but the more time went by it was clear she was going to have to adapt her sound for the current audience.

The result is stunning. Rapper and friend Lackhoney put together the backdrop for ‘Waterlilies’, her debut album, which is a good entry into the world of this RnPoprincess. Like all good princesses there is an air of sadness to Lucy’s past, which makes her story so compelling, and this comes through in her lyricism.

Introspect is met with harsh realities on ‘Queen Bed’, where she talks openly about the tales of a UK girl in a US metropolis, namely spending all her money on a big mattress like the one found in the music video.
