Another promising upcomer from the UK’s burgeoning alternative R&B scene, Baby Pink returns with summer stunner ‘Peace of Mind’.

Having burst onto the scene with her 2018 debut offering ‘Timing’, Baby Pink excited R&B fans with her atmospheric 2020 EP ‘Ego Sun Fire Rising’. The project swooned through late night narratives with sensual delicacy, but on her new effort Baby opts instead for a seasonally suitable offering, bringing summery nonchalance and serene vocals to her increasing eclectic discography.

On ‘Peace of Mind’, Baby Pink comes through with laidback delivery and introspective, uplifting lyricism that marries well with an upbeat, sanguine beat produced by Luton producer Hurricane. The instrumental revolves around a tremelo’d synth and progressive percussion that produce a sun-kissed, celebratory timbre. The lyrical content mirrors the positivity of the sonic palette, as Baby explains she doesn’t have the time or effort for people bringing negativity into her life, as she gazes onwards into peace of mind.

Discussing the track, the singer explains:

I wrote the track during the second UK lockdown, when I was struggling with self doubt and feeling as if I were running out of time to achieve all I wanted. The song started as a set of positive manifestations to motivate and remind me not to rush my creativity and to trust the process.

Baby Pink’s ability to encompass and epitomise different moods and sounds is an impressive feat - expect her to continue to surprise.
