Rosa Cecilia introduces herself to the scene with the empowering, effervescent and endoscopic debut single ‘Paradise’. Lifted from her upcoming EP, the cut sets down a musical marker for what is to come from the West London singer songwriter. Having built a steady fan base through her social media presence, Rosa has finally dropped off this rich and thematically potent gift.

The instrumental is tinged with nostalgia and vitality, with watery keys and ethereal vocal harmonies kept sharp and focused by the snappy natural percussion. Melodically, the beat is constantly shifting and progressing, following the singers vocal and lyrical timbre as she floats through the sonic landscape. There is a warm familiarity to Rosa’s textured voice; the kind of soulful tone that makes you feel at ease, the auditory equivalent of a sweet cup of tea. The lyrical content spans several topics, touching on the ideals of love and societal issues, translating these diverse matters into her own relatable narration.

Rosa’s multicultural heritage plays a significant part in her creative direction, commenting that:

I write the majority of my lyrics in English, but in most of my songs I add a line or a refrain in Spanish, French or Italian because that’s how I communicated in the multicultural environment of my upbringing - in a way, a mish-mash of language has become my native tongue.

An assured and emotionally matured debut, be sure to check out Rosa Cecilia’s exciting new offering.
