Hoping You'd Call

Grammy-nominated producer Maths Time Joy, and Rich (of Refs and Thirdstory) have linked up for another collaborative single from their upcoming EP. ‘Hoping You’d Call’ is infectious, and a gorgeous hybrid of R&B and future bass.

It’s the second teaser from their new project, which is shaping up to be great, especially with the talents of Maths Time Joy (whose worked with the likes of Gallant and Mahalia), as well as the star power of Rich who has recently attracted viral attention on Tik Tok

Rich’s vocals are sentimental, and full of passion, whilst Maths Time Joy’s production skills are ethereal and stunning – the duo together sound similar to how Flume and Chet Faker would sound on a classic track of theirs. The song beautifully explores themes of unrequited love, with a lush, textured instrumental that will mesmerize you instantly.

When speaking on his influences for the track, Rich said:

I started writing this song while on tour with Chance the Rapper, and was listening to a lot of PARTYNEXTDOOR, Future, and Eli Sostre at the time.

Having only met once due to the pandemic, some might be worried about the turnout of this team effort, but even with Maths Time Joy in the London, and Rich in New York, they are yet to let that get between their creative abilities.
