Bravo

Nigerian rapper, singer and songwriter Cheque returns with new 13-track album 'Bravo'. The project provides words of encouragement and healing throughout, offering themes of love, self-reflection and struggle along the way.

‘Bravo’ stems off the back of a run of singles including ‘Call Me Baby’ and most recently ‘LOML’ alongside YBNL linchpin Olamide helping to build momentum for the project. Additional collaborations come from charismatic American rapper Jackboy and Nigerian musical prodigy Ayra Starr, who channels new energies in lead single ‘Dangerous’. The reflective ‘History’ sees Cheque join forces with childhood school friend Fireboy DML to reminisce on how far they’ve come. 

The project feels like the perfect presentation of Cheques world - experimental, euphonious, and ethereal with a variety of influences. His transparency is highlighted throughout revealing his hardship to overcome life’s obstacles stripping back additional layers to his persona. His unique transfer of energy is magnified in shifts of grippy hooks and unpredictable production styles emphasising his ability to ride multiple genres at one.
