Wrong Answers Only

Archetypal geezer The Streets teams up with hotly tipped sonic chameleon Master Peace for a typically unique single Wrong Answers Only

Continuously striving to explore different areas of musical culture and to push stylistic expectations, Mike Skinner has been a significant and influential figure within UK music for almost two decades. Granted, it hasn’t always worked (the less said about Computers and Blues the better) but you have to admire his thirst for creative expansion, and his passion for pushing through the next generation of talent. He displayed this appetite in abundance on his imperfect, introspective and indulgent 2020 tape None Of Us Are Getting Out Of This Life Alive, which featured collaborations with an incredibly expansive range of UK talent. After a quiet 2021, bar some disappointing show cancellations and the hilarious track Who’s Got The Bag (21st June), Skinner is set on continuing his hunt to find the perfect co-collaborator, this time turning to upcoming indie rapper Master Peace.

The genre-spanning anthem sees the two artists go back-to-back over the piano-driven instrumental, which inevitably builds and diverges into a dance-infused breakdown. Only Mike Skinner can release a tune that is as suitable for 3am down The Mill in Digbeth as it is for Radio 1. If you are a fan of The Streets, I find it difficult to imagine you not throughly enjoying this one.
