The Whistle Song

In a so-called era where “R&B is dead”, we are in no form of a drought. Tejy returns to the scene with the video to his first single of the year, The Whistle Song. Though it’s been a while since his last and debut release in 2020, the London-based artist is sparing no expense on his newest visual.

After spending a large part of his creative career behind the curtain, writing for fellow R&B vocalists Eric Bellinger and Col3trane, Tejy is now focusing his attention on honing in on his personal sound. “For me, music and performing have always come naturally.” And now we have the singer back at the forefront with a video providing fans with an effortless summer vibe for an equally breezy track.

Produced by Cruz and CeeJae, the duo’s production works to further magnify the nostalgic feeling set up by the grainy VHS stills of LA in addition to deeply saturated shots of Tejy and his love interest. His affinity for pulling classic R&B sounds such as soft whistle tones with a melodic modern twist is unique. This midtempo, carefree banger will leave listeners ruminating over fleeting summer flings.
