The Thrill

Nigerian-born neo-soul artist Wayne Snow returns with new single ‘The Thrill’ taken from his forthcoming project 'Figurine' which is set for release on the 24th September 2021 - his most ambitious yet.

Composed alongside Styleboi_92 and Crayon, 'The Thrill' is a slick, highly stylised slice of alternative pop / soultronica. Conceived as a paean to the complexity of human nature, the song’s orchestration stands as a neat juxtaposition. A cold, crisp beat underpins gentle funk guitar and woozy synths, Snow’s piercing vocals – and spoken word interlude – proving particularly poignant; a gospel-tinged outro, complete with organ, is a further nod to the song’s spiritual nature.

Now based in Berlin, Snow has been spreading warmth and his unique creative vision across the globe together with Roche Musique and highly acclaimed collaborators such as FKJ, Darius, Max Graef and Glenn Astro. 

Speaking on the song, Snow said:

“We are often in a hurry to reduce everything to a simple expression so as not to fail in front of others,” says Snow of the song’s message. Yet even with unlimited means to justify ourselves, this charade is always unfruitful.”
