Thanks For Waiting

British lyricist Potter Payper has unveiled his highly anticipated mixtape ‘Thanks For Waiting’ via 0207 Def Jam which came after his 2020 album ‘Training Day 3’.

With the 18 track project seeing the Essex rapper fortify his space within the UK rap scene, the album also features a plethora of features such as Unknown T, Digga D, M Huncho, NSG, Tiggs Da Author and more. Having released his single ‘Nothing’s Free’ for the project with the phenomenal Suspect OTB, the introspective album also landed alongside a newer single ‘Johnny On The Spot’ with cinematic visuals and hard-hitting verses. With his gritty bars and captivating performances, Potter Payper depicted his old and new lifestyle which was effortlessly captured by director Kevin Hudson.

With ‘Thanks For Waiting’ seeing Potter Payper showing off his knack for writing, it’s also a look into anecdotal street politics and offers a whole new side to his lyrical abilities in spite of his absence over the past few years. As he hones his craft, Potter Payper has truly become a force to be reckoned with within the UK rap scene by joining forces with some of the biggest names in the game today.

Speaking on the album, Potter said:

“ The inspiration behind the tape is to elevate my sound and take it to the next level whilst still remaining true to it. The features are all natural and organic, I’m thrilled by how they have all turned out. The process of bringing it all together was intense, we had writing camps, long producer sessions and I spent a couple weeks in a residential studio ensuring we got it all right. There was a lot of trying new sounds, ensuring other people’s sounds gelled with mine and just general hard work. I wanted to dig deep within myself after Training Day 3, which went amazing, to level up and I’m back in that space again to do even better for my Album. ”

With the album spanning a handful of themes, the NSG-collaborative track ‘Plain Clothes’ speaks on how they have an appreciation for the finer things in life, whereas ‘Gangsteritus’ ponders on the sacrifices that have led him to this point. Potter Payper is the storyteller we never knew we needed.
