Supa

One of the most exciting producers in the UK underground scene right now, Tambala borrows the dazzling vocal ability of Ana Barrena on the heavenly, masquerading and mesmeric new cut ‘Supa’. Taken from their joint EP ‘Mind Movements’, the combined trait of delicacy is abundantly clear on Supa; we hear and feel every sonic droplet and vocal assonance delivered ethereally and complexly. Borrowing from a variety of generic approaches, the track offers vibrant, eclectic production and understated, gorgeous vocals.

The simplicity of the Tambala instrumental allows a tenderness in each musical elements. The synth melodies throughout are light and affecting, and the busy, progressive percussion is nuanced and precise. The producers use of drums is exotic and stimulating, as he uses breakbeat and trance-like rhythmic patterns to convey individualism and definition. The mixing is immensely sharp and chromatic, subtle in its layering and tonality. Ana’s incandescent, celestial tones are a perfect accompaniment to the music, offering incisive writing and intoxicating melodies.

A collaboration meant to happen, definitely one to check out.
