So High

Rmarni announces herself to the R&B scene on vivacious and pensive debut offering ‘So High’.

Born and raised in Dudley, the compelling newcomer draws on influence from a variety of genres, spanning from Afrobeats to Neo-soul, inspired by strong-willed R&B legends like Ashanti and Aailyah. Produced by duo Circa ’95, whom she met on a chance encounter in LA, Rmarni brings seamlessly smooth vocals, effortless emotionality and silky texture on her new single.

Circa ’95’s soaring sonic palette has depth and subtlty, with floating synth arpeggios and booming 808s contributing to the sparse and atmospheric soundscape. Rmarni sits atop the dreamy instrumental with sensuality and nuance, flowing in wistful acquiesce, her heavenly tone serene and polished. An accomplished writer, Rmarni illustrates her narrative craft with lyricism burdened with introspection; a reflection of love won and lost. No matter how right it felt at the time, Rmarni can’t return to that utopian emotion and experience - all that remains is the bittersweet tang of memories.

Discussing the track, Rmarni explains:

To me ‘So High’ is understanding where I was and where I am now; being able to remember the highs and the lows of love and being content with where I am today

The first of many gorgeous and vibrant releases, expect Rmarni to be a household name in the UK R&B scene before too long.
