PDA

Sowing away from the seam and slowly morphing a genre of his own with the alt pop-rock sound he’s curated over the years, UK pioneering punk rapper Master Peace makes his return with infectious new single ‘PDA’.

Peace has already begun to lay the foundation for his aspiration to become London’s next big ‘pop star’ with the likes of his break out single ‘Night Time’ and feature on SG Lewis’ ‘Chemicals’ remix. ‘PDA’ continues to keep this notion alive, as Master Peace’s distinctive vocals ring out across a vibrant indie-pop instrumental composed by Jacob Manson, Jocelin Francis and James Trood. Hitting us right off the bat with a chorus that’s reminiscent of an almost harmonious football chant. Peace declares his disinterest in a girl that’s ‘doing too much’ to keep his attention, suffocating him with PDA. Yet, she appears to have some hold over Peace. Confessing that she may just be a potential ‘problem’ later on in the eve if she plays her cards right.

‘Thank you for sticking by me / this is for you lot’, Peace states on the day of release. Any die-hard Master Peace fan will have heard this anthem floating about on the internet or perhaps queued up at one of his wild live performances over the years. Peace explains that this song is for the true fans that have supported him from day one. The ones that have seen his growth on this journey. Maybe even through the rebrand of his unique sound. He has come a long way from the East London rapper that produced absolute underground classics such as ‘Buck Me’ and ‘Please Don’t Touch Me’, that would still shell shows till this day (I can confirm they definitely did back in 2K18).

This fresh release is set to warm us up for his awaited EP ‘Public Display of Affection’ due for release on the 28th of May. So until then, run up the numbers on ‘PDA’.
