Leicester’s soothing Sainté continues to effortlessly glide into everyone’s playlists, with the star’s second EP ‘Out the Blue’ providing some of his silkiest offerings yet.

Over here at The Pit, we have love for all the talent putting the surging alt-rap scene on the map right now, but there’s a few that stand tall within the abundant sonic demographic. Sainté is just one of many sitting amongst the regal round table of rap within the UK right now.

Coming out of the blue in mid 2020, Sainté captivated a nation with break out riddim ‘Champagne Shots’, and ever since the Local MVP has only continued to be the talk of the town, putting LC and the unsaturated East-Midlands on the universal sonic map.

‘Out the Blue’ is once again nothing short of luxury; layering richer than rich productions courtesy of soulful sound-smiths Parker Jazz, Brad Baker and more; bringing suave soundscapes to the plate that Sainté can only thrive on with that cool-headed poise and consoling energy behind the mic.

Throughout Sainté weaves throughout the abundant arsenal he’s slowly easing us into, getting in his Brent Fayaiz bag on the rich ‘Azure’ showcasing the talent in abundance, providing some heavenly harmonies himself alongside the whirling contributions of Chi Virgo, Tay Iwar and Odeal. A true unsung hero on the tape that puts Sainté’s evident versatility on full display, similar to stand-out single ‘No Love’ alongside the elegant songstress Miraa May.

This EP is Sainté at his best in my opinion, providing those infusions of rhythm and blues within that one of a kind ‘feel good’ sound he continues to hone; vividly executed within the conscious-seizing ‘West’ and the hypnotising ’03’. Now lets get into ‘West’ because as soon as you hear those funky chord progressions and west coast bass ringing out through the atmosphere, you just know Parker Jazz is on the track! That Sainté x Parker link will never miss… never. Seriously this one here is Sainté in his absolute bag. Smoothest in the game and you can’t tell us otherwise.

Throughout the remainder of the EP, Sainté continues to give us glimpses into the sonic exploration he’s veering into; testing the waters with an assertive approach on the muddy mixup ‘Midnight’, seeing a bass dominant production towards the sign off as Sainté goes off reminding the people he can do it all.

Ensuing the iconic link up between Killburn’s Knucks and South’s A2 on the dynamic ‘Summer is Blue’, Sainté slows things down a little; providing a personal pen session on the intimate ‘You Never’, giving gratitude to all and reminiscing on the come up as the lulling soundscape that just radiates introspection coaxes the talent to speak his mind. Not to mention the captivating visuals courtesy of rising talent Arran Ashan.

Forever embracing change, Sainté is only on his way to transcend the initial expectations, growing every day with that profound vision that’s allowing him to take all the right steps in the right direction.
