LONDON

South London rapper/producer Tariq Disu releases new single ‘LONDON’ ahead of his forthcoming EP ‘GW’. Inspired by the capital, ‘LONDON’ magnifies Tariq’s genre-shrugging sound, combining a bass-heavy production with his poetic flows. Capturing his viewpoint of the city, the self-directed visuals are definitive of his surroundings, reflecting Tariq in his natural habitat.

Having previously lived in Ghana and The US, the 24-year old relocated to South London where he currently resides. A love for poetry and his heritage had helped develop his unavoidable urge to create music, this was later influenced by his teenage muse, MF Doom.

Speaking on the single Tariq said:

Sonically ‘LONDON’ was built from a raw feelin’. Being a youngin’ who learnt from a lot of older G’s was something I wanted to implement in my message. It’s light but it’s heavy. It’s lovely and it’s livid. All at the same time; creating harmony in balance. Rhythms from the nooks and crannies of the ends, pulsating for the real ones. Ringing as an alarm for caution among the youth but not playing to be heard in the capacity of the futile for this flight has taken off & GW is where we’re set to land.

With a never-ending stream of ideas, it’s impossible for listeners not to get drawn into Tariq’s complex yet illusive mind and eagerly await what comes next.
