How Many Times

Elevating Birmingham’s scene to newfound heights, drill frontrunner M1llionz once again highlights why he is the rapper everyone is talking about on ‘How Many Times’, featuring Lotto Ash

Born and bred in Hansworth, M1llionz enjoyed an outstanding breakout year in 2020, offloading hits like ‘Billionz’ and ‘Lagga’, as well as huge features for the likes of Pa Salieu and K Trap. Now considered one of the most exciting and progressive rappers in the UK, M1llionz continues to set an ever quickening pace, following on from the gritty, raw ‘Badnis’ with this vibrant, genre defying new offering. Despite the fact that his stylistic approach is so recognisable and unique, he sustains the ability to augment his artistic expression and craft with tighter flows, better lyricism and electrifying production.

Compelling with his signature flow, Millionz ponders a series of rhetorical questions in the character driven and perceptive verses, whilst the Lotto Ash hook is immensely catchy. The instrumental has a distinctive and eerie vocal sample, which combined with subdued keys, colourful bass and neurotic drums, creates a beat teeming with purpose, exuberance and menace.

The chromism and vitality of the sonic landscape is mirrored in the narrative driven video filmed in Ghana, with vivd cinematography and visuals, as we witness our protagonist outsmarting the authority figure and driving off into the sunset with his lover.

After a run of superb singles, surely a M1llionz project isn’t far away?
