Floating

The UK R&B scene has been going from strength to strength in recent years, and a new name to get familiar with is British/Singaporean artist JVSMINE, who has just unveiled her impressive new two-track project, ‘Floating’. The main single from the project, ‘No Regrets’, is a gorgeous downtempo track and is accompanied by some stunning visuals directed by Sam Kinsella.

Based in South London, JVSMINE’s deep and husky tone immediately sets her apart from many of her contemporaries. And when her vocals are paired with her open and soul-baring lyrics – as heard on ‘No Regrets’ – it makes for a truly fascinating listen.

Speaking further on the new release, JVSMINE commented:

“This project was created in lockdown over several zoom sessions with co-writer and producer Luke Osborne (NULA). I feel like I’m always floating and drifting in this life; it’s neither bad nor good but I think everyone’s in the same boat – no one really knows what they’re doing. ‘No Regrets’ is actually kind of sad, and it came from a sad place within me. At the time of writing it, I was so closed. My views on love and trust weren’t great. I don’t feel that way anymore, nor do I have regrets but writing this was most definitely part of the healing. Plus, it’s a little tune you can just chill and groove to if you want.”

‘No Regrets’ makes it clear that JVSMINE is a special talent with an exciting future ahead. With another stunning release under her belt, the rising artist will surely be one to watch out for in the UK R&B scene over the next year as she unveils more new music.
