Exclusive Premiere: GiddyGang ft Vuyo - Sour

The genre bending 6 piece GiddyGang team up with Norwegian hip hop prodigy Vuyo for a collaborative EP, dropping the first teaser, the rousing cut ‘Sour’. 

An ensemble made up of beat-makers, musicians and songwriters, GiddyGang have been highlighted as one of the most compelling collectives around, working with hit artists such as boy pablo and Ivan Ave. 

The South-African/ Norwegian rapper Vuyo has himself been building an acclaimed discography, recently releasing a joint album, ‘Dialogue’ with Ol’ Burger Beats. His laidback delivery and introspective lyrical prowess makes him the perfect marriage with Sarah Nærø Pettersen’s lead vocals, as the pair explore themes such as racial identity, police brutality and love. 

Speaking on the track, Vuyo said 

“When we wrote “Sour” i was in the midst of finishing up a trailer for a documentary about my parents involvement in the ANC and SWAPO during Apartheid. Everything coincided with the George Floyd-trial and a book about the fatal killing of Benjamin Hermansen here in Norway that just got released all in the same time period, so I had all these thoughts going through my mind at the time. So I just tried to abbreviate my adolescence into a verse and get those feelings of my chest.”

With buttery production and effortless vocals, this is a superb collaboration from immensely promising artists.
