Enjoy The Silence

Fousheé returns with one of the strongest singles of 2021 so far, a take on the classic Depeche Mode track ‘Enjoy The Silence’. The moody, late night cover is complemented with a creative visualizer and is spearheading H&M’s latest summer campaign ‘Find The Strength In Silence’. 

She undoubtedly does the original justice, echoing lyrics like “painful to me, pierce right through me” with her own distinctive flair. The New Jersey vocalist channels R&B stars like Kali Uchis and SZA with her bittersweet melodies and a suitably synth-soaked instrumental that sounds almost like a Tame Impala rendition of the 1990 song. 

‘Deep End’ was likely the first time most of us heard Fousheé’s introspective vocals, thanks to a viral sample on New York drill rapper Sleepy Hallow’s freestyle. Thankfully, Fousheé has shown us she is more than just a TikTok sensation and has since bagged features with Lil Wayne, as well as an upcoming song with James Blake.

Her breakthrough single ‘Deep End’ will also appear on her upcoming LP. The LA-based star recently announced her debut album ‘Time Machine’ is set to release on June 4th. Hopefully, the project will see her continue to defy genre and push boundaries.
