Dragon Tattoo

Over the past few months Ghostface600, one of the leading figures in the new generation of melodic rappers  has released a number of single that centre around him in the streets on crud and rapping about being in the trap.

Slowing it down, Ghostface600 returns with the help of R&B songstress Dxinx on the song Dragon Tattoo. The pair combine to create a sonic experience that best expresses their love language in their simplest form. Both of them share their sides of the relationship giving the impression that we’re witnessing a private moment.

The single can only be best described as a melodic gangster romance trap infused duet that has the rhythm and sway of the street anthem but the smoothness of something else altogether. The tension in Dxinx is expertly used to allow her to move up the range in pitch showing off her powerful range, whilst showing off her frustration at his partner’s behaviour. Delicate piano keys dance throughout with an emotive undertone that is played throughout which is both sweetly delivered and intoxicating.

The visuals that accompany the track are cinematic in quality, co-directed by Kirx Diaz and Ghostface600 himself. Reflecting the music we get the shots of a high end and classy bar, as well as cuts to Ghostface600 with his boys posted on the street and also shots of Ghostface enroute to Dxinx.

Ghostface600 released his first project 600 SZN IN 2019, followed by the  Just a Rapper Wid Melodies mixtape and a year later 600 SZN 2. With the steady string of singles released this year, we hope that the South London artist is preparing for a debut album.
