1 2 WATCH: Yems01

One of the most unique new voices in alternative rap, Yems01 makes an impression with trip-inducing release ‘Carhartt Cargos’.

Influenced by the current trap wave that is invading our American cousins, courtesy of artists like Playboi Carti and Trippie Redd, Yems combines left field sonics with a raw, grime-reminiscent flow to create an avant-garde sound full of atmosphere and character. Having released previous single ‘Jamie Vardy’ via GRM Daily and featured on underground rap duo 808INK’s latest album, Yems has been bubbling beneath the surface, ready to bring his individualistic sound to a larger audience.

Drenched in psychedelia, the MBWAV produced instrumental proves to be the perfect backdrop for Yems subtly sharp flow to cut through, meandering through his bars about reality, perception and dreams. The trap influence is clear to see with snappy drums and trippy high pitched synths making up the sonic landscape.

With a strong sonic and lyrical direction, Yems01 is certainly one to watch.
