Problems can be tackled from different angles, and these require a different approach.

LOONY’s music has been deeply rooted in relationships’ hardships, often while being conscious of the perpetual cycle of expectations and disappointments.

This time around, she comes back with the groovy and heartfelt ‘WHiTE LiE’. Like her previous single ‘GOOD GAME’, this is an uptempo and groovy statement of being aware, rightfully demanding and taking power of her actions.

The formula works heavenly: the confident fragility in her tone is a foretaste of what the Toronto-based songstress can work with, implanting electronic influences whilst keeping the overall composition organic and fluid. Putting no boundaries to the creativity, thanks to the trust built over the time with long-time producers Adam Pondang and Akeel Henry.

She is now demanding and blunt, singing, “Well I’m no stranger to a white lie/ Make it come true somehow”, far from being at the mercy of the issues, a mere memory of who she used to be on ‘Tread’, where she sings “Oh you’re the rusted razor blade in my hand/Threaten to cut me open someday/I just don’t know when”.

Drawing the line now is a new LOONY, still graciously naive, yet on the path of experienced growth.
