WHITE HTL PT 1&2

Acclaimed modernite Vzion blends progressive, sonically reaching music with themes of sexuality, love and pain on the starkly beautiful double sided ‘WHITE HTL’. Forming a charismatic blend of R&B, alternative pop and hip hop, the singular artist offers an invigorating take on romance, lust and lethargy, with bustling rhythmic work and thought provoking, emotionally charged lyrical ideas.

In the first part of WHITE HTL, we are treated to a busy, intense instrumental - like a hyped up Frank Ocean had a love child with Tame Impala. The beat has a thick, domineering and rather hypnotic groove, that rumbles and races its way through the run time. The deep, intrusive instrumental is juxtaposed with memorable vocal melodies, with Vzion’s autotune heavy vocals searching atop the beat like a DJ above the dance floor; surveying the track with conflicting emotions. There is a different timbre as we move into Part 2, and it feels like the narrators trip goes slightly awry and haywire, with off kilter production and darker, translucently druggy imagery coming to the forefront. The intense nature of the tune remains, but the groove is replaced by speculative melodic phrasing and striking one liners such as ‘you’re the dealers number one client’.

A journey into the centre of ones soul, Vzion portrays emotion in a significant and unfounded manner. An artist brimming with potential, be sure to check out Vzion.
