Wasteman

R&B singer-songwriter Zenesoul offers deep grooves and memorable melodies on the incandescent, soulful and fiery ‘Wasteman’. Born in Nigeria and raised in Canada, Zenesoul forms her own blend of R&B and soul, sprinkling in pop sensibilities, to create a sonic texture that is immensely pleasing on the ears. A strong and experienced writer, she uses her individualistic, captivating tone to convey the flashy and striking lyricism.

The instrumental on ‘Wasteman’ is a layered, affectionate soundscape, with giving, well rounded production that entices and encourages the listener to sink into a world of deep, blissful R&B. The smooth, adventurous bassline and modern drum kit provide a certified head bop, while electric guitars display affable chordal patterns and articulate fills. The expressive vocals are performed, and mixed, heartily and the melodic counter harmonies add some much appreciated warmth. The chorus is monumental; addictive and affecting as well as full of personality.

This is a well written, engrossing track from a compelling artist. I feel like Zenesoul is a musician who has a lot more to give in the future. One to watch for sure.
