Regular Feelings

Master Peace makes his return with romantic number ‘Regular Feelings’. This one brings together so many factors that contribute to this feel-good tune. Let me begin with the syncopated reggae instrumental, produced by Manuka and George Reid. It’s uplifting and swanky – the ideal addition to our summer playlists; but don’t get it twisted, this is one of those records for all year long. The reason why, I’m coming on to.

Master Peace’s romantic, love-struck attitude is one of those that many either associate with summer or those cosy winter nights, for me the former. So when you draw on emotions such as nostalgia and romance, there’s a willingness to be yourself when listening, accessing those memories and going with the flow, following your train of thought to transport you somewhere else. I think that’s it, it’s dreamlike.

‘Regular Feelings’ has its own unique lane to operate in, like with much of Master Peace’s work, you can’t box it into a genre and why should you? It’s got enough commercial appeal combined with artistic flair, meaning it’s a wonderful concoction of strong fundamentals - his output always remaining true to the character we are led to believe.
