Payback

East Londoner Kojey Radical is known for blurring the lines and for experimentation, and it’s no different with his newest song Payback featuring Knucks. The song has a jazzy/funky feel that runs throughout the track, which is produced by Swindle.

Kojey is in his element, loud and honest, as he sees Payback as black success, the chorus is chaotic, compared to the verses. It’s almost like a call to arms. Knucks’ verse is smooth as he glides on the beat making references to popular UK series TopBoy and cheekily mentions running up on people who owe him money.

Kojey follows, coming in with the same nonchalant poetic flow as they flex on their enemies, talks about the struggle but the message is clear - black financial generational wealth is the aim.

The track is from Kojey Radical’s anticipated new album Reason to Smile which is set to drop in March
