Maze

Indian/American artist Anisha comes through with mediated, articulate and romantic new single ‘Maze’. The singer-songwriter, who offers a diverse and eclectic form of soul, ups her game on her 4th release; further exploring her sound and emotional maturity, whilst captivating the listener on the dazzling, stirring and stunning track.

The acutely radiant beat consists of paced percussion, deep plunging bass and keyboard chords that are light and intangible. The layered instrumental gives a great texture to the track, with elements of R&B sprinkled into the vibrant and soulful sonic landscape. The vocal delivery is emotive and ethereal, and the lyricism is expressive, with the narrator encouraging the subject of the song to cut the lies and explore the truth on the densely thematic cut.

There’s nothing worse than not knowing what the person you love is feeling, and Anisha describes this in a way that would implore anyone to start expressing themselves. This is a picturesque, thoughtful song that cements Anisha as a mainstay in the contemporary R&B scene.
