Loudhouse combine the loudest pack of beat-makers you ever did see…

Our friends over at Loudhouse recently presented the world with a collection of instrumentals sourced from both home and abroad, entitled Loudpack Vol 1. With a generous selection of sounds and samples, the tape flips between classic boom-bap, lo-fi sounds and trap, whilst maintaining a succinct sound from start to finish.

The majority of the beats have a classic over-swung beat pattern, causing a slightly off beat, sloppy drum sound that fits wonderfully underneath sampled strings and piano riffs. There is also an excellent use of vocal samples throughout the tape, with what sounds like Alina Baraz, to a scene cut from ‘Meet The Fockers’, the vocal parts used are done so with inventiveness, as well as humour.

A few of the beats take slightly different musical approaches, one being a trap-flavoured track. The beat includes classic booming 808’s, but fuses this with hip-hop inspired sample cuts to create a lofi-trap-hop hybrid…

The tape also delves into trip-hop influenced sounds, with a particular emphasis on the detuned pianos and clicky tuned percussive sounds that really create an ethereal feeling to the music.

For rappers, producers and listeners alike, Loudpack Vol. 1 should serve as a staple benchmark for what the new generation can bring, hopefully Vol. 2 isn't too far away…
