Paying homage to the greats before her, Shaé Universe drops the perfect balance of gentle harmony and heavy drill for her new release ‘Levels’. After the release of her incredible take on Monsta Boy’s, ‘Sorry’ for her latest single ‘You Lose’, the London-based artist returns with this melting pot of genres rooted in her own special concoction of sound.

Allowing her distinguished vocals and abundantly, singular tone to shine through, ‘Levels’ yet again shows she’s ahead of the curve. With equally grimey and eloquent production from Sunsetdrver creating a detailed and wide-ranging instrumental for Shaé to lay out her artistry in full, she effortlessly scatters her harmonies and ad-libs across the distinctive track.

Keeping her artwork as fresh as her sound, she enlists NY’s Afroartisan to create the vibrant, cartoon visual. Recreating South Dakota’s Mount Rushmore, however, this time with Missy Elliot, Grace Jones, Erykah Badu and Lil Kim, the UK-artist pays tribute to the pioneering women who pushed their music ahead of its time.
