Landed

One of Birmingham’s leading musicians Dapz On The Map releases his highly anticipated debut album, Landed. The multifaceted project spans across 11-tracks and represents a revitalised version of Dapz having spent the past 3 years carefully crafting the album. After spells of creative stagnation, Landed marks a proud moment for Dapz as he arrives having developed a further understanding of life, the music industry and his musical intentions.  Renowned as a Grime linchpin in Birmingham and beyond, he delves into melodic avenues throughout the project as he looks to cement the self-coined Grime&B sound alongside his “Mean and Clean” persona that he has continued to own. In the lead-up to release this month, lead single ‘Give Thanks’ was announced on the official FIFA 23 soundtrack.

Dapz re-found his form to birth tracks throughout the pandemic following spells where he lacked motivation and inspiration. Gearing himself up for a busy year, he released double-single Connecting Flights before a collaboration with Tempa and featuring alongside UB40 for the 2022 Commonwealth Games lead single Champion. Offering full transparency throughout, his debut album reflects on themes of personal growth and self-reflection to mark a landmark moment in his career. Showcasing his potent combination of delivery, wordplay and flow, lead singles Contingency and Give Thanks re-introduced Dapz to his ever-faithful fanbase with production from frequent Collaborator, Swifta Beater (Aitch, AJ Tracey, Ghetts). A portion of the album provides a more melodic version of Dapz, including a modern-day love story, Holding It Down and Beautiful alongside Pheleba that remains integral to his discography. Closing the project, ‘Memory Lane’ provides a statement of intent outlining his life journey so far in maestro storytelling form.
