Isolated Tapes

After the release of her critically acclaimed debut album ‘LOVE AND COMPROMISE’ last Autumn, the smooth-tone UK soulstress returns with her new 3-track EP ‘Isolated Tapes’. On the 1st May, Mahalia graced her fans with the new project for her 22nd Birthday. The artist was scheduled to perform in London, to mark her special day, but recent circumstances prevented such from going to plan.

The Leicester-born singer rediscovered songs she was compelled to fall in love with, all over again. Isolated Tapes’  features a personal favourite (and hers too) ‘BRB’ - with transparent, personal lyrics, emotive keys and intimate visuals that expose the ache of missing someone, during her last tour and completing her album. Followed by ‘Plastic Plants’, backed by her snazzy soulful production, her lyrics reveal her wanting more from a situation she wishes will progress romantically. The project closes with ‘Too Nice’, a nostalgic composition that is dedicated to the 00s RnB sound.

The 'Sober' songstress continues to build chilled, candid hits since her COLORS performance. Earlier this year, Mahalia wrapped up her sold-out headline ‘LOVE AND COMPROMISE’ Tour, which saw the singer perform in Asia, North America, Canada and Europe. Her tour highlighted not only ‘What You Did’ featuring Ella Mai, but also earlier tracks such as the 2019 summer hit ‘Simmer’ with Burna Boy, which recently received Silver status in the UK.

After being in the industry for 8 years, Mahalia is only getting started. ‘Isolated Tapes’ consists of insightful lyrics, preparing us for the magic she’ll return with post-lockdown.
