Djazz Bruv
The project opens with a pitch warped guitar and a sample of James Brown from the interview where he’d allegedly assaulted his wife with a pipe. All this instantly says quality to me. I am pleased to live in a world where Occultism, Jazz & Grime can become bedfellows, and ‘Djazz Bruv’ provides exactly that.
Luciferian has a grinning flow. It’s sarcastic and manages to impart loads of information coherently whilst recited at considerable speed. The themes are honest, tragicomic whilst the technically insane Grime production provides the slap you need to put the slide back in your step.
I loved this project, it was short enough to take multiple times in succession, and provides an instrumental! PROPER EP style! Short and snappy but memorable as fuck, hats off to Luciferian.
