Digital Crates #013

This series covers the best submission tracks we have recently received and expose you to some great artists from around the world.

WesWill - Cutlass

Starting with some smooth G-Funk energy this week! Everyone seems to be embracing the old-skool these days and indie rapper WesWill is looking to dominate that lane. Siting his influences as Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and DJ Quik, the rapper hones in on colourful melodies to push this track forward. ‘Cutlass’ is just one of the highlights on his latest project Summer Time Slaps Vol. 1

BluE Realization - Longing

We hope you guys listen to music through good headphones or speakers because you need to for this next track. Press play and close you eyes to take this in… Entrancing right?! Toronto artist Blue Realization is here to make music for the soul. He aims to “merge “Sound of indie music” and “Spirituality”” and you can certainly feel it on his latest piece ‘Longing’.

CIRRRCLE - Foreign Tingz

When I think of “Fun” music artists that come to mind are The Internet and Kali Uchis. To add to that list we now have the amazing singer/rapper/producer trio CIRRRCLE. I coined their last track ‘Fast Car’ as our last track of the summer on our radio show but maybe I spoke to soon! ‘Foreign Tingz’ is the latest offering from LA based CIRRRCLE and is the much needed burst Kawaii you need in your life right now.

LENT - Asafa

THIS. GOES. HARD.
Austrian rapper Lent was only 17 when he was signed to Universal Records offshoot MOM I MADE IT. Lent’s older brother Damian Beats is the man behind all his backdrops for the tracks and they are back with a hard hitting ode to the ex-sprinting world champion Asafa Powell. Even though unapologetically not one word is translated for an English audience, the track still makes you mob with conviction.

Kai Rabai - Slow Down

It’s always a treat to hear a male vocal artist break through the ranks and London artist Kai Rabai is pure R&B, with his considered plea in ‘Slow Down’. The track, produced by XVR BLK, is one of many is Kai’s soulful catalogue and is set to turn heads, notably producer George Reid (AlunaGeorge) who he is working on a new track planned for release in early 2019. Keep your eyes peeled!
