The new Weeknd EP is all about grown man problem, broken heart shit. That only means he is back. My Dear Melancholy is the first new project since his mega smash Starboy, all the way back in 2016, and it's full of stories of past relationships that have now faded away but still haunt him.

“I claimed you so proud and openly
And when times were rough, when times were rough, I made sure I held you close to me”

This could be in reference to his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez who has suffered from health problems in recent years. The Weeknd is getting back to his dark, brooding sound that first made him famous in his debut EP and if you were a fan of the Trilogy, this is for you. My standout track is Wasted Time with smooth production by Frank Dukes (executively produced) and Skrillex.
